Description

The legendary Blackwing 602 is made in Japan from cedarwood and high-quality graphite.

The chosen pencil of pop-culture icons from Truman Capote to Quincy Jones, the Blackwing 602 is the modern reincarnation of the famous Eberhard-Faber Blackwing 602. The special-formula graphite lead behaves like a B lead but varies in appearance according to pressure - from HB (firm) lead to 4B (soft) lead. It has a precise point with good point retention and makes a dark grey line. Its motto is emblazoned on the barrel - half the pressure, twice the speed - and this is a great description of the writing experience. The barrel is long and sleek, with a characteristic rectangular replaceable eraser.

Blackwing

With roots stretching back to the 1930s, the Blackwing 602 was the go-to pencil of artists, writers and designers for more than 60 years. After Blackwing loyalists had scoured the earth to find the last of their favourite pencils, Blackwing reintroduced the 602 in 2010, bringing the legend back to life for a whole new generation.
